Read Across America
March is National Reading Month. The month kicks off with Read Across America Day on March 2nd. On this day, across our nation, teachers, students, teenagers, librarians, politicians, actors, athletes, parents, grandparents, and others bring reading excitement to children of all ages.
JOYcabulary would like to suggest that we celebrate this day as a Read Across New York Day by reading from this year’s New York State Reading Association’s Charlotte Award nominees. Named for the main character in E.B. White’s Charlotte’s Web, the purpose of the award is to encourage students to read outstanding literature and ultimately become lifelong readers.
Rock the Vote!
Join our state as we read and vote on this year’s Charlotte Award winners!
Voting Requirements:
Students may have the books read to them or read the books on their own to become qualified voters.
Students are encouraged to read all of the titles in a category, but it’s not a requirement.
Students may read books in more than one category and vote in each category.
Each reader is entitled to one vote in each of the categories.
All votes must be submitted through this link.
Votes must be received by April 15, 2023.
